“I Feel Like Should Be Doing Something”: Two Simple Choices Before You
“I Feel Like Should Be Doing Something”: Two Simple Choices Before You
“I feel like I should do something… but I don’t know what,” She said to me.
I understand!
Hi, Joseph here.
I’ve been hearing that a lot lately. I’ve felt it too and I understand.
That feeling of anxiety… that sense that I need to take action, now…
but somehow immobilized and not knowing where to begin.
I myself, felt hopeless and thought my action probably wouldn’t matter anyway, but the anguish didn’t go away.
I found a way to get unstuck
For me, the way through didn’t come from figuring it out. It came from tuning in to a place in me that knew what to do and then -taking a leap of faith. .
I once heard of a steeplechase rider who was asked
how she and her huge horse clear those impossibly high hurdles.
She said:
“I just throw my heart over the bar… and the horse follows.”
“Courage”, I said to myself. She was talking about a kind of courage - a commitment to herself to trust, to risk, to fly!
That’s how it works. You don’t need the whole plan. You just need to begin. To take the first step.
For me, that starts here:
I use my breath to connect with my self and access my intuition.
Not casually — deliberately, with specific focus, technique and intent.
In a few minutes a calm space opens up. And in that quiet space
choice becomes possible.
New insight and possibility are available to me.
The next step offers itself.
I say yes and do
Just what is before me to do.
